Nursing Assistants' Perception of Students in Dental Hygiene for Revision of Dental Assistance Law

Abstract

|
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to: i) investigate the scope of work for dental hygienists and nursing assistants, and ii) their awareness of revised nursing assistants' laws, in order to induce diverse and active participation of dental hygienists' students in the dental hygiene program.
Methods: A self-assessing questionnaire was completed by 250 students from the Department of Dental Hygiene in Chungcheong-do and Gyeonggi-do.
Results: The result of the question “whether you think dental hygienists should be expanded to include ” was mainly “yes.” The results of the questions asked about whether had participated in activities to expand the scope of dental hygienists showed that most of the third and fourth graders were "participating" in these activities.
Conclusions: It is essential to ensure that dental hygienists are clearly aware of and actively participate in activities for the future of dental hygienists.
